Introduction:
To gain some insight in the way we build our lessons,
we will briefly go over some of our thoughts about Physical
Education. While reading, it will become clear that this
"theory" will influence our instuctional stategies
directly.

Education (the personalist movement education concept)
These thoughts find there roots
in, on one hand, education at the HALO (the Hague University
for Physical Education) and on the other hand the CALO (today
University Windesheim) and in discussions with colleques.
A. Vision on Humaness; The "human
moving" from a phenomenological point of view
We are interested in young people
from a pedagogical and educational poin of view. We would
like to appreciate and call upon the possibility for young
people to give direction to their own life and be responsible
for it. That is why we encourage our students, in increasing
amount, to be co-responsible for each lesson. In interaction
with eachother we emphasize that we would like to look at
people as collaborators. Not as adversaries that you , cost
what costs, have to defeat.
Movemental behaviour is a relational
happening. I will give an answer to what appeals to me in
the outsite world; this is what has meaning to me.
In our subject, the Movement
Education, this movement is bound to the physical body.
From this physicality one give meaning to the moving. Human
Moving refers to locomotive (motorial) meaning. As the essence
of tone is audibility, so the essence of locomotive meaning
is the ability to answer in movement. Only where the core
of the happening refers to the giving significance to the
locomotive meaning, we will speak of human movement.
